A new Distribution Center in Oslo for COOP Norway - Dexion gets the order from Witron
The Norwegian food retailer Coop appointed the general contractor Witron Logistik + Informatik GmbH for the realization of its new distribution centre near Oslo. The logistic complex has a size of 50,000 m2 and is suitable for all temperature ranges. For the mezzanines the logistics expert Witron relies on the competence of Dexion GmbH.
For an area of approx. 14,000 m2 Dexion GmbH will deliver the required steel platforms. The project team at Dexion is looking forward to this interesting challenge. In some areas the multi-story steel platforms includes up to 5 levels, which will be executed using warm- and cold rolled profiles. Different loads of up to 1,300 kg/m2 have to be accommodated. Materials handling equipment, small-parts warehouses, pallet racking and cranes as well as several dynamic storage systems will be installed on the platforms. “A very challenging and complex project”, assures Mr Oliver Breuer, who is responsible for the planning and execution of the project at Dexion GmbH.
From this distribution centre Coop will supply the eastern parts of Norway, with approx. 12,500 different articles. Products from the dry segment, fresh (-2 ° C), frozen (-25 ° C) as well as fruit and vegetable products (7 and 12 ° C) are delivered from here to the Coop stores. In addition special items and slow-moving goods for 850 Coop stores throughout Norway will be stored there as well.
